58th Wedding Anniversary

Hey..I feel like I've not written in such a long time. Truth be told, I just can't get back into the bloggy swing. But..today is a special day. Today is my parents 58th wedding anniversary. I had grand plans to visit my mom, sister (Kristy with a K) and Happy Mommy today. We were going to place a special Christmas wreath on my Dad's grave and then celebrate as best we could with a nice dinner that Happy Mommy prepared. Well here I sit in my office...my kids both have sinus infections, bad coughs and I myself have a stomach flu. So much for celebrating.

Since I can't be with my family today, I thought I'd post this picture of my parents 58 years ago today. My dad would've been so happy to celebrate today. He loved getting together with his family but more importantly, he loved his wife more than words could say. He set such a high standard as a husband that I didn't even consider marriage until TBD came along when I was 38.

Anyway, Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad.

You couldn't be more right, he loved my Grandma more than words can express! Although he is no longer with us he left her with a life time of loving memories! He always gave affection and not only to her but to us girls also.... I will miss his hug and great big smile today as we have dinner together to celebrate their Anniversary. Thank you for posting this, I am really sad you can't be with us. The head stone is beautiful and you will really love it when you do get to come. I love you.

What a beautiful picture. I am so glad they had 58 wonderful years. I am praying for your mom today, as well as the rest of you.

You mom is so blessed to be able to say she was truly loved for that long! There are a lot of people that never experience that kind of love.
Sorry, you all feel bad today.

I love the Christmas card of them!!
Thanks...they look so cute.

Ahhh, that's sweet. My parents had their anniversary just this Sunday. It would have been their 39th. It's hard when you lose a parent. But you remembered their special day in a lovely post...very sweet. I barely mentioned it b/c my mom still sobs uncontrollably when I mention or want to talk about my dad's passing.
Love that picture!

Sounds like a wonderful man...what a neat thing to be able to say that your Dad helped your standard be so high for the man of your dreams! Not many girls can say that!
I hope you guys all feel better soon!

Awww, such a sweet tribute to what sounds like an inspirational marriage. I love their photo and do folks say you favor your father?

I hope everyone gets better in your house soon. Blessings and Merry Christmas!

Although this is a late comment, I just found your blog through 'fro me to you'. I enjoyed this post. I just blogged last week about what would have been my parents' 65th wedding anniversary.

I like your blog, hope to stop by again some day!
